Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for income tax reporting, property tax filings, tax registrations, and annual report filings.
  • Work in conjunction with our Shared Services organization as it relates to Federal, State and Foreign income tax preparation and our external business partners for sales tax reporting. 
  • Maintain Tax Calendar to ensure all tax reporting and compliance requirements are completed accurately and in advance of established due dates.
  • Respond to requests from internal/external business partners on tax-related matters and provide guidance on taxability of products and/or services.
  • Assist the Director of Accounting and Global Controller in due diligence efforts in connection with potential merger, acquisition, and divestiture activity.
  • Support the Global Controller with developing and implementing the company’s accounting principles, practices, and procedures to attain the goal of process excellence

o Develop and maintain an effective organization through the selection, training, compensation, and motivation of all direct reports.

o Provide guidance and direction to at least one direct report to ensure adherence to all company policies, departmental procedures, and legal requirements.

o Motivate, mentor, and manage your direct report through deployment of Company people development tools.

  • Serve as integral member of the NA Tax team for our Kantar parent company to ensure Kantar tax compliance requirements are met and to communicate potential issues that might warrant parent company guidance and/or resources.
  • Interface with external auditors for audit requirements.
  • Managerial responsibilities will depend on experience and may include, but are not limited to:

o Develop and maintain an effective organization through the selection, training, compensation, and motivation of all direct reports.

o Provide guidance and direction to at least one direct report to ensure adherence to all company policies, departmental procedures, and legal requirements.

o Motivate, mentor, and manage your direct report through deployment of Company people development tools.

Skills & Requirements

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5-7 years’ progressive experience in tax accounting with at least 3 years’ experience in a supervisory/management capacity.
  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP and accounting policies.
  • Strong knowledge and experience preparing and reviewing Federal, State, and foreign tax provisions and tax returns is preferred.
  • Experience working with a multinational foreign parent company is strongly desired.
  • Public Accounting experience is a plus.
  • Experience working for a public company is preferred.

EDUCATION:

  • BA/BS in Accounting/Tax is required.
  • CPA designation is a plus.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with outside tax counsel/business partners.
  • Adept in working in fast-paced environment.
  • Thrives working in team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, direct, prioritize and delegate work appropriately.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and assertively (written and oral).
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Capable of managing multiple responsibilities while maintaining high level of detail accompanied with working effectively in a high-paced environment.
  • Results oriented with focus on achieving overall business objectives.
  • Must be able to streamline work and maximize efficiencies.
