SEO Manager

CallRail is hiring a seasoned SEO Manager that can come in and help us define, manage, and complete a comprehensive SEO strategy.

You will be responsible for growing, optimizing, monitoring, and reporting on our search engine visibility and overall non-paid traffic sources.

Aggregated organic traffic accounts for the largest share of our website traffic and lead generation across all channels.

You will lead a team to execute on our product and revenue goals as they relate to organic channels.

Reporting to the Director of Website Strategy and Analytics, you will work closely with the broader Marketing team to develop strategies and execute SEO plans that meet company objectives.

This role requires a strong attention to detail, ability to manage competing priorities, willingness to work with Content, Product, & Engineering teams, strong communication skills, and an exceptional ability to execute complex projects with many moving parts.

Your mission will be unlocking further traffic growth opportunities and aligning content strategy to customer intent.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Grow, monitor, and leverage organic channels throughout the funnel
    • Awareness: Grow and maintain CallRail’s visibility for our core discovery terms
    • Engagement: Produce and optimize mid-funnel content visibility
    • Conversion: Enable lead capture and sales conversions via optimized bottom funnel content
  • Collaborate, communicate, and compromise with other teams in a way that produces positive SEO outcomes and increases appreciation for, and participation in, SEO’s role in our success
  • Contribute to high quality, strategy-driven content for CallRail’s website and for byline opportunities
  • On Page/Technical SEO: Research, Optimize existing and new content, Daily/weekly tool review, reporting, perform site speed reports
  • Link Building: Research current links/potential links; perform manual link building outreach; perform outreach to produce follow links from existing mentions
  • Content Strategy/Content Creation: Research existing content performance/potential content ideas based on user search data/intent; develop keyword strategy based on research; optimize existing content around target keywords; optimize outgoing content from other teams; determine SEO-friendly content topics; guide content creation from others according to SEO strategy
  • Keyword/Topical Research: Research potential keywords/current keywords/target keywords; use tools to determine current KW rank/changes in KW rank; determine where we can improve; develop/execute plans for growing CallRail’s topical authority as it relates to all offered products
  • Other SEO: Manage content theft/copyright infringement detection and takedown requests, produce general SEO topic research and reporting, coordinate with our PR team to generate high quality backlinks and mentions in publications with high domain authority
  • SEO Reporting: Report on organic activities, keyword research and rankings, link building opportunities/efforts, on-page and off-page optimization/changes, site speed, copyright infringement efforts
  • Attribution/Waterfall Reporting: Produce weekly and monthly reports on attribution of inbound leads by stage in customer lifecycle
  • SEO Education and Awareness: Advocate for SEO and its long-term vision by educating the broader marketing team, leadership, and company as well as serve as the SEO subject matter expert for customer and product questions.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5 years experience in advanced SEO
  • Deep knowledge of Google Analytics and data visualization tools
  • Deep knowledge of technical SEO
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Experience using SEO tools/platforms
  • Proven track record of SEO lead generation and revenue growth
  • Basic understanding of business KPIs and how SEO impacts them

Success in this role will be measured by:

  • Growth in traffic, leads, MQLs, SQLs, New Customers, and revenue from organic channels
  • Quality metrics: Conversion rate, time on site, bounce rate, CPL, avg.

    page duration, pages per session and other analytic data showing quality of organic site visits

  • Keyword rankings
  • Growth of natural backlinks
  • Ability to improve technical SEO factors in collaboration with other teams
  • Awareness on the broader marketing team about SEO importance, impact, and considerations
