Position Summary

Huber is in the process of implementing a future focused vision and is transforming its organization and businesses to drive significant long-term profitable growth.

Over the last several years, Huber has reshaped and focused its portfolio by divesting more than $1 billion in non-core assets and has made acquisitions in key strategic businesses that will serve as growth platforms for the future.

The company is uniquely organized to manage its businesses as semi-autonomous portfolio companies.

Each company is managed through its own Board of Directors and the corporation has an overall Board of Directors at the enterprise level.

The role and structure of the corporate center continues to evolve with a primary focus on developing, analyzing and executing growth initiatives that support the enterprise mission in terms of finance, strategy, capital allocation, governance and control systems.

The CS&BD group assists the CEO and corporate board with key strategic initiatives and supports the portfolio companies and their Boards with assistance targeted at the needs of each individual business.

In addition, the group is responsible for driving inorganic growth in the organization through M&A and other strategic relationships.

The group manages the target identification and pipeline process, due dilligence and negotiation and works closely with legal counsel on the deal contracts and terms.

This positon offers hands-on opportunities to leverage education and experience through high visability throughout the company, direct access to senior leadership, impactful and challenging assignments, career advancement pathways, assignments and exposure to various aspects of the business.

The Manager in the CS & BD group will participate in formulating and implementing corporate strategy and business unit strategy supporting the M&A function (pipleline development, valuation, due diligence, negotiation, executation and integration etc).

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Corporate and Business Unit Strategy (~50%)
Preparing and delivering annually Huber’s long-range strategic plan of record (“BlueBook”)
Leading critical corporate strategy projects related to organic capital deployment, asset allocation, business development, technology assessments, expansion into new markets, and performance benchmarking.

Leading ad hoc analytics-based projects as requested by the CEO and Boards of Directors
Supporting critical business unit projects as needed
Contributing to the development of Huber’s overall portfolio strategy, including M&A and divestitures
Mergers and Acquisitions (~50%)
Assisting with identifying, screening and evaluating potential acquisition candidates, joint venture partners, etc.

– target pipeline development efforts as needed
Assisting / leading with valuation development and related financial analytics
Assisting / leading other elements of the M&A process within the company as appropriate, and interacting with critical internal personnel and outside advisors
Assisting/leading post-merger integration planning and execution as needed
Education, Specialized Knowledge & Required Skills & Key Competencies

MBA, with significant emphases on business strategy and finance
– 5 years of total business experience, with at least 1-3+ years post-MBA experience in corporate strategy, strategy consulting, investment banking or relevant finance, marketing or general management function.

Experience with industries similar to Huber is a plus.

Ability to develop complex financial modes that tie to the strategic initiatives or inorganic growth opportunity.

Ability to develop full financial statements and valuations that allow for scenario planning.

Detail orientation with ability to support decisions through research and sound business judgment.

Ability to articulate complex process to large groups to gain understanding and build consensus.

Experience in developing and managing long-term strategic plans in a corporate setting.

Translate strategic visions into actionable plans.

Excellent analytical skills.

High degree of comfort with Excel and PowerPoint is essential.
