Position Mission:
This individual must be comfortable in defining direction where little currently exists.

Primary focus is to develop, plan, lead, and execute cross-functional initiatives that advance the organization from a knowledge and performance standpoint.

He/she must exhibit a deep skill set in project management.

Close collaboration and alignment with a wide variety of both internal and external stakeholders will be required, ensuring clarity of communication and direction.

As such, exceptional abilities in building and maintaining strong working relationships and organizational savvy will be required.

It is important to think strategically and develop a strong point of view, based on both quantitative and qualitative inputs, leading to optimal customer, financial and operational outcomes.

High level communication and presentation skills are required.
Position Performance Measures:
Clear project definition (scope, timelines, objectives, KPIs)
Successful execution of project deliverables according to schedule
Creation of alignment through inclusive approach and strong relationships across the organization
Flexibility to change direction as learnings and new priorities arise
Responsibilities:
Project Management
Partner with business leaders to develop and execute implementation plans to accelerate and realize value creation opportunities
Set and manage stakeholder expectations specific to the project.

Effectively communicate project expectations, goals, and scope to the teams
Communicate ongoing project direction, priorities, events and status to all project resources and stakeholders
Clearly understand project roles and definition of each team member to effectively manage the activities of the team
Obtain feedback at critical milestones and at project completion to ensure that project efforts are meeting customer expectations for time, cost, and results
Ensure project deliverables are on time and on budget while meeting project objectives
Surface and communicate issues that impact schedule, scope, or cost
Strategic Thought Leadership
Be a Strategic Thought Partner
– drive insights into action
Recommend changes to project scope as needed based on learnings and evolving environment
Consumer and Marketplace Insights:
Study the markets we serve and the competitive landscape.

Understand at a deep level our positioning compared to needs, trends, and competition.
Provide regular reports on status of the industry to key stakeholders and executive management
Other duties as assigned, which may include the following:
Business case creation
Vendor and supplier relationship / management
Business model definition
Business development

Experience, Education, and Abilities:
BS/BA required
MBA strongly preferred
5+ years in related disciplines including project management, strategic planning, and/or general management
Demonstrates consistent track record of leadership, teamwork, and delivering high impact results
Synthesizes data to enable fact-based decision making to inform strategic and operational recommendations that translate into action
Strong collaboration skills and ability to influence and drive alignment among stakeholders across all levels, divisions, and functions
Embodies self-starter mentality and demonstrates ability to successfully manage multiple projects.

Comfortable managing multiple ideas, concepts, and project timelines
Demonstrated conceptual & analytical thinking: prioritization, decision-making, problem-solving, and financial analysis skills
Act as a change agent with an open and flexible approach, with strong skills to build credibility and partnerships
Validates information provided to discern facts from opinions related to communicating project status
Superior verbal and written communication skills; executive presence in presentation skills
Excellent organizational, planning, and documentation skills
Aligns with GPC core values

Technology and innovation enthusiast preferred
Automotive aftermarket experience or parts knowledge preferred
Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint strongly preferred
Project Management certifications preferred
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Office / Sedentary Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.

Work is performed primarily in an office environment.

Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
