Director Of Sales Marketing

nnThe Atlanta Opera seeks a dynamic Director of Sales and Marketing to support and grow ticketed and digital revenue.

In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, the opera has become a much more agile business, actively growing its digital media presence and introducing innovative outdoor performances to the greater Atlanta community.

The ideal candidate flourishes in a fast-paced, start-up environment, loves to present solutions to complex problems and is extremely motivated by sales revenue goals and analytics in order to build audiences.

A passion for the arts and knowledge of the performing arts industry is important, but knowledge of online loyalty-based, membership marketing is vital.

This position reports to the Chief of Marketing and Audience Development and will be instrumental in the strategic growth of the marketing/audience development and digital departments.

Compensation and bonus structure is commensurate with experience (5+ years desired).nn nn n nn nn SUMMARY nn nn n nn nnThe Director of Sales and Marketing works with the Chief of Marketing & Audience Development to develop and implement all sales activities for The Atlanta Opera across all channels, ensuring exceptional customer service.

nn nn n nn nn DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES nn nn n nn nn
· Responsible and accountable (with Chief of Marketing) for setting The Atlanta Opera’s annual ticketed revenue goals for both digital and in-person performances and projects.

· Monitor key performance indicators and report accurate KPIs regularly to Chief of Marketing, Managing Director and General Director.nn nn
· Aggressively pursue revenue goals with a combination of targeted promotions and advertisement.nn nn
· Form and enact strategies related to customer acquisition, retention, migration, and revenue maximization.nn nn
· With the Chief of Marketing, create a comprehensive marketing plan that supports the opera’s programmatic and institutional initiatives.nn nn
· Responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service throughout every stage of patrons’ interaction with The Atlanta Opera.

· Supervises marketing staff.nn nn
· Provide support for and implement marketing activities including subscription and single ticket sales campaigns for live and digital events, advertising, telemarketing, special promotions, direct mail, and audience development campaigns; Includes media buying.nn nn
· Assist with communication of marketing initiatives across departments.nn nn
· Supervise the production of marketing deliverables, including advertising (print, broadcast, outdoor, online), direct mail, e-mail, promotional materials, and other collateral in cooperation with Creative Services consultants.nn nn
· Help manage the marketing budget and costs associated with marketing programs while reporting updates to Chief of Marketing & Audience Development.nn nn
· Supervise process and ensure on-time production of program books.nn nn
· Write press releases, emails, and other opera communication as needed.nn nn n nn nn COMPETENCIES nn nn n nn nn
· 5+years in marketing, communications, and PR, with progressively increasing management experience and demonstrated achievement of event-based revenue goalsnn nn
· Supervisory experiencenn nn
· Experience in arts and event marketing is strongly desired with up-to-date knowledge of the intricacies of digital marketing and segmentationnn nn
· Excellent written and oral communication, and problem-solving skillsnn nn
· Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously and efficientlynn nn
· Strong analytical and budget skillsnn nn
· Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detailnn nn
· Collaborative team playernn nn n nn nn MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS nn nn n nn nn
· Bachelor’s degreenn nn
· Experience using Tessitura or other CRM databases (Tessitura preferred)nn nn
· Must perform the functions of the position in a safe manner nn nn
· Position requires evening and weekend obligations during the opera seasonnn nn n nn nnCompensation is tied to revenue goal achievement, with base salary and performance-based bonuses.nn
