Director of Global Sales Training


This is a Full-time position in Atlanta, GA posted March 21, 2021.

UPS is seeking an experienced and dynamic Global Sales Training Director to set the short and long-term Global Sales Training program. The Global Sales Training (GST) Director manages and directs worldwide training programs that supports field sales (e.g., Strategic Accounts, Middle Market, etc.), Inside Sales, and Customer Solutions learning needs.

The Global Sales Training Director collaborates with senior sales leadership (e.g., Vice President of Global Revenue Operations, BD Department Heads, Solutions Department Heads, etc.) to understand and prioritize learning needs and to determine learning solutions. This position collaborates with external vendors (e.g., training development, design, content development, technology, etc.) and subject matter experts (SMEs) (e.g., Marketing, Pricing, Revenue Management, Brand, Communications, Public Relations, etc.) to close skills, knowledge, technical, and performance gaps. The Global Sales Training Director manages Global Sales Training activities and budgets. He/She directs and prioritizes training programs to ensure timeliness, effectiveness, and cost efficiency. This position manages managers and supervisors.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Collaborates with senior management, stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Directs and evaluates training methodologies and programs.
  • Directs Worldwide Sales training programs for his/her supported groups.
  • Leads and develops others.
  • Manages Global Sales training activities.
  • Monitors programs run by individual business units and collaborates/flexes the sales training resources to support those efforts as they develop.
  • Consistently assesses the acumen of global sales and solutions team members to build/execute appropriate learning programs and most impactful platforms to maximize team output to meeting organizational objectives.
  • Recommends refinements to alignments, products, solutions, service, or technology based on results; defines resources required to test and revise training materials/platforms/vendors.
  • Identifies market trends, workforce changes, and cultural differences that may impact sales or customer solutions learning needs and techniques; modifies learning programs with agility to support the changing landscape.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience negotiating service agreements
  • 1+ years’ Procurement experience
  • 3+ years’ Management Experience
  • Experience issuing and executing a successful RFP program to on-board vendors; including Content Creation, Negotiation Training, Technology Platforms, & Training Methodologies – Required
  • 3+ years’ experience developing and teaching best in class sales training material across a global workforce – Required
  • 3+ years’ experience managing a global sales training team supporting 1000+ trainees – Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Required
  • Master’s Degree (or internationally comparable degree) – Preferred
