Acquisitions Business Desk – Group Manager


This is a Full-time position in Atlanta, GA posted January 8, 2022.

In this role which reports to the Finance Director, you will focus on information and reporting, analysis, business planning, governance and fiscal responsibility, compliance and risk management while being in a trusted leadership position focused on integrations of acquired companies finance and accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities
Research, identify new and support existing highly collaborative, positive business partnerships while serving as the expert on accounting functions and contextual knowledge, maintaining strict confidentiality where applicable
Identify future trends and plans for long-term integration strategy for finance and operations.

Works across teams to challenge assumptions and present actionable recommendation for how to manage the business
Drives cross-group business planning understanding risks and taking advantage of innovations, new opportunities, business needs and cost reduction
Defines cross-group metrics and service level agreements per the business process outsourcing model to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies and standards, providing feedback to vendor management when necessary
Proactively partner with vendor management, procurement, corporate tax, global payroll and other finance teams to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies, standards, and deadlines with Microsoft’s acquisitions, while providing feedback and recommending improvements
Interprets accounting standards and regulatory requirements in relation to company policies and applies control processes to ensure policy compliance and risk management per established standards
Advises senior-level leaders on business objectives and strategies while ensuring effective implementation of initiatives
Capacity to positively influence others with or without direct authority while holding them accountable and removing barriers in a shared services environment
Demonstrates resilience, and maintains a constructive attitude in times of change
Through behaviors and actions, set an example and represent the Microsoft Values and the One Microsoft culture
Attract, develop, and retain diverse talent while maintaining and inclusive work environment and supporting career development
Effectively communicate business strategy and goals while proactively managing team and priorities in a changing environment
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND 7+ years accounting or finance experience OR Master's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND 6+ years accounting or finance experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND 10+ years of accounting or finance experience AND 5+ years experience managing direct reports OR Master's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND 9+ years accounting or finance experience AND 2+ years experience managing direct reports.

Professional accounting certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent.

Prefer 10+ years of hands-on experience in financial accounting processes
Must have strong leadership skills with the courage and ability to engage and influence senior leaders on Microsoft’s integration and execution strategy for future acquisitions
Proficient understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
Proficiency in MS Office – with advanced Excel skills & extensive experience using multiple formulas and pivot tables with strong ability to manipulate large volumes of data with strong ability to manipulate large volumes of data
Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-moving environment while conforming to tight deadlines
Ability to effectively collaborate with senior-level leaders and drive for results
Strong ability to deal with ambiguity, exercise sound judgment and show strong commitment by standing firm when appropriate
Excellent verbal & written communication, interpersonal and cross group collaboration skills
Experience working in a shared services environment
