VP Data Platforms & Systems

Join our team as the VP, Data Platforms & Systems in an exciting opportunity to work with the leading digital health company in the market. In this instrumental role, you will help architecture the tools and platforms that Company uses to impact whole person virtual care while leading a brilliant tech team as they scale the next generation of healthcare. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead various teams driving data platform and systems initiatives aligned with the strategy and integration efforts of the organization
  • Help build an industry-leading team focused on integration and applications of large scale, complex healthcare data for analytics and operational use-cases and needs
  • Lead a culture of growth as our organization scales and matures
  • Manage & grow a team of technical talent (50+) today. Help us build a brand and culture where top-tier talent is excited to join 
  • Shape key architectural and data strategy decisions in partnership with the senior leadership team
  • Support services and capabilities that rely on data platforms for operational needs like growth, analytics, and client reporting
  • Consistently drive to future proof, ensuring that our technology stack and data models are stable, secure, and scalable
  • Connect the dots across the entire business to identify opportunities to enhance the industry and our operations with technology
  • Set the vision, define the plan, and create the architecture and roadmap for our technical infrastructure across all systems
  • Maintain industry-leading uptime on critical technology infrastructure through significant architectural decisions, successful monitoring and testing processes, and system redundancy
  • Develop a differentiated approach to data ingestion and analysis that gives a competitive advantage and speed, including the application of sophisticated data science techniques
  • Utilize creative, thoughtful, and boundary-pushing system development strategies that unlock opportunity (including build vs. buy decisions and system architecture)

Candidate Profile

  • Experience building scalable data systems for real-world applications in consumer-tech, healthcare, or enterprise software
  • Having been part of a scaling team/business and experienced platform growth & scale
  • Experience with healthcare-specific data is a plus (e.g., claims, medical imaging, etc) but not a requirement for this role 
  • Experience leading and managing both in-house and offshore development teams
  • Systems architecture ownership experience, ideally for a company that has physical inventory and has gone through an ERP implementation
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, trade-offs, and opportunistic new ideas with technical, non-technical, and executive team members
  • Curiosity and willingness to try new things, work in a fast-paced environment, and never settle for the status quo
  • Accomplished range of skills from detailed analysis to high-level strategy and sound judgment on when to use which one. Plus, willingness to roll up your sleeves and dive deep to inspect and understand, when necessary
  • Ability to step outside the technical domain and take the “voice” of the customer as input into your direction setting and decision making
  • Tools & platforms: AWS, Data lakes, Event-based systems, etc.
  • 15+ years of eCommerce development experience; 7+ years managerial experience
  • Ability to attract, develop and retain diverse teams of technical talent, creating a collaborative and supportive environment for growth
