nn POSITION PURPOSE nn nnThe Senior Systems Engineer for the Application Security Engineering Team supports The Home Depot’s security mission by installing and supporting tools for static analysis testing, dynamic analysis testing, and software composition analysis.

As a member of the team you are required to have experience and knowledge about continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, SAST, DAST and SCA tool configurations, and be able to prioritize risks.

Systems Engineers will be involved in routine upgrades and application support as well as root cause and post-mortem analyses around security incidents and service interruptions.nn nnAs a Sr.

Systems Engineer, you will be able to operate independently, though typically working as part of a team with varying skillsets.nn nn MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES nn nn 10%
– Planning & Analysis: nn nnResearches and analyzes business trends and behavioral data to identify opportunities for improvements and new initiativesnn nnDrives the evaluation, development, and recommendation of specific technology products and platforms to provide cost-effective solutions that meet business and technology requirementsnn nnResearches and designs best fit infrastructure, network, database, and security architectures for productsnn nnProactively creates and maintains tools for monitoring and supportnn nnParticipates in project planning and reporting across multiple effortsnn nn 30%
– Delivery & Execution: nn nnDrives configuration, debugging, and support for infrastructurenn nnDrives field and corporate roll-outs of technologynn nnDrives the stand up of necessary system software, hardware, and equipment (physical or virtual) to meet changing infrastructure needsnn nn 50%
– Support & Enablement: nn nnCollaborates with product and project teams to understand needs and enable them with infrastructurenn nnSupports technology architecture design review efforts for project and product teamsnn nnLeverages tooling and custom applications to monitor the operational status of applications, infrastructure, networks, databases, and security; optimizes and tunes performance as appropriatenn nnDrives root cause analysis, debugging, support, and post-mortem analysis for security incidents and service interruptionsnn nnMaintains, upgrades, and supports existing systems and infrastructure to ensure operational stabilitynn nnOpens and manages vendor problem tickets to resolutionnn nnDrives the production of in-house documentation around solutionsnn nnMonitors tools and proactively helps teams struggling with systems issuesnn nnProvides application support for software running in productionnn nnCreates scripts and tools that drive automation and enable product teams and end users to move towards self servicenn nn 10%
– Learning: nn nnKeeps abreast of innovations and industry trends as well as changes to internal systems and determines how they impacts tools, training, and support necessary to keep systems up, running, and securenn nnParticipates in and contributes to learning activities around modern systems engineering core practices (communities of practice)nn nnProactively views articles, tutorials, and videos to learn about new technologies and best practices being used within other technology organizationsnn nn NATURE AND SCOPE nn nnTypically reports to the Systems Engineer Manager or Sr.

Fortify, Fortify on Demand, Checkmarx, Veracode, Coverity, WhiteHat, WebInspect, AppScan, Black Duck, WhiteSource, DependencyCheck, ZAP)nn nnExperience and proficiency in one or more programming language (Java, C#, React etc.) and one or more frameworks.nn nnExperience with one or more Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) Pipelines
