POSITION PURPOSE
The Sr.
Taxonomy Analyst, Item Data Governance is part of an enterprise Product/Item Data Governance team, which is responsible for designing the product taxonomy, defining product attributes, and ensuring data quality and data integrity for product data at The Home Depot.
The Sr.
Taxonomy Analyst will be responsible for managing multiple projects at one time with cross functional business partners across Merchandising on projects to optimize the product taxonomy or in support of expansions to the overall assortment.
The Sr.
Taxonomy Analyst will be responsible for conducting competitive/industry research, building product knowledge in assigned categories, and planning/executing changes to product attributes and the product taxonomy.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Understanding the business case behind all projects, including the motivating factors for all stakeholders.
Working with the Business Manager to analyze all potential opportunities to enhance, improve and refine the requirements gathering processes.
NATURE AND SCOPE
Typically reports to Manager or Senior Manager Merchandise Mgt Systems
No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the leadership of a work group: assign and review work, train and contribute to performance appraisal (but not hiring, firing or disciplinary action).
