A Healthcare company has asked Vaco to help fill their Pre-Certification Specialist role. This is a full time onsite opportunity with a growing company!
Job Summary
Obtain approval from insurance companies for medical procedures and imaging services provided the healthcare client
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Obtain precertification for medical procedures and imaging studies
- Review and submit clinical information for medical necessity
- Verify medical insurance policies for procedure coverage
- Insurance company and patient follow up
- Place calls to various health plans to obtain appropriate pre-certification prior to the patient’s appointment
- Develop and maintain effective relations with managed care representative as well as physicians and physician office staff
- Develop and submit supporting data and reports as requested by management
Education/Experience/Skills/Certifications
High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in healthcare. Prior pre-certification and authorization experience in specialist office and radiology. Advanced knowledge of medical terminology. Prior customer service experience preferred. Must have prior insurance verification experience. Strong customer service skills. Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance practices.
