SUMMARY:The Team Lead is responsible for supporting the Lending Underwriting Manager by providing leadership and assisting in the day-to-day operations of the lending underwriters.

Serve as a primary resource for Underwriting staff seeking to consult on questions regarding lending guidelines, procedures, or individual loan requests while ensuring that efficient, timely, sound, and compliant lending decisions are made within the scope of lending authority.

Ensure the safety and soundness of the Credit Union by maintaining the highest integrity when deciding upon a request.

Assist in training and developing lender underwriting skills.

Demonstrates strong leadership and critical thinking abilities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Other duties may be assigned.Complete timecards, monitor and track PTO and attendance.Provide feedback during performance review process.Ensure submitted requests have complete and accurate information.

Lenders should have documented approval notes in Loans PQ.Review and make decisions on any consumer loan request including Indirect and Home Equity applications.Review declined lending decisions as requested by loan officers.Review of undecisioned Queue for adherence to compliance.Conduct audits of loan officer’s pipelines to consider for Initial or Increased Booking Authority.Review VISA renewals sent from VISA Department.Handle complaints or requests in a timely manner.Assist in obtaining departmental and organizational lending goals.Assist with other special projects as needed.EDUCATIONAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degree in business related discipline or equivalent professional work experience.Minimum of five years consumer lending experience, preferably with the full credit spectrum.Comprehensive understanding of both direct and indirect credit union lending policies.Strong analytical, organizational skills and attention to detail.Knowledge of vehicle titles and sate lien/UCC requirements.OTHER JOB QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge of consumer lending policies, procedures, products and services.Effective analytical problem solving, organizational and planning skills.Strong motivational and influencing skills with demonstrated knowledge and understanding of financial services related products and overall financial services operations.Excellent interpersonal communication skills as well as effective public speaking skills.Extremely detail oriented with excellent documentation and record keeping skills.Ability to routinely work Saturdays.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily.

All employees must be able to communicate face to face or through technology with or without reasonable accommodation.

Employee will be in an office environment (well-lighted, heated and air-conditioned) typically stationed at a desk or table.

Employee will be asked to sit and stand for various increments of time, and to lift/push up 10 lbs.

Clerical office duties on various forms of technology are required.
