nn nDescriptionn nnEmory University School of Medicine located in Atlanta, GA is seeking nominations and applications for the position of Chief of the Division of Hematology.nn nnThe Division of Hematology at Emory University School of Medicine is housed within the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology.

As part of Emory University School of Medicine and Winship Cancer Institute, the faculty in this Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology are leaders in cancer research activity and provide the latest therapies for patient care.

Winship physicians provide care at Emory University Hospital, Emory University Hospital Midtown, Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Emory Johns Creek Hospital, Grady Memorial Hospital, the Atlanta VA Medical Center, and Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. nn nnApplications are sought for tenure eligible faculty at the associate or full professor level.

Emory University Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology seeks a Hematologist who is actively involved in clinical and basic research, patient care, and education in the areas of hematological malignancies and non-cancer hematology.

This role will have ultimate responsibility in the Division for clinical service quality and improvement (across all Emory locations), and oversee research and education in the Division.

The Chief will focus individual efforts on the development of novel therapies to treat myeloid malignancies and other forms of leukemia.

As a leader at Emory and in the field of hematology, the Chief of Hematology will be actively engaged in ongoing extramurally-sponsored clinical and basic scientific investigation.nn nnWinship Cancer Institute is the clinical, education, and research base for Hematology and Medical Oncology at Emory University.

It was founded in 1937 with a mission that no one need to leave Georgia for the best cancer care.

Today, Winship sees more than 17,000 patients every year and is the only National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated comprehensive cancer center in Georgia.

In 2016 Winship’s faculty received over $85 million in research funding, with $38.6 million from the NCI.

In 2017 Winship investigators conducted over 250 therapeutic clinical trials and enrolled more than 700 patients.
