Marketing Communications Strategic Advisor – Remote

Overview

Are you a strategic doer with a passion for coupling creative storytelling and innovative delivery to drive business impact?

Varian, A Siemens Healthineers Company, is looking for a Marketing Communications Strategic Advisor to lead the strategy development and the detail-level execution of integrated marketing communications activities that create excitement and generate demand for Varian’s radiation oncology business line. The Marketing Communications Strategic Advisor will be an integral member of the Global Corporate Marketing Organization that drives the iconic branding and positioning for the company, business lines, and product portfolios.

As the Marketing Communications Strategic Advisor, you will be leveraging your exceptional strategic, analytical, and communication skills to analyze marketing trends, go-to-market, and product commercialization strategies to author creative and scalable integrated marketing communications strategies.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to successfully execute, measure, and optimize multi-channel integrated programs. Programs include website development, SEO/SEM, social channels (both established and new), email communications, advertising (programmatic and endemic/native), message and content development/management for digital and traditional tactics including catalogs, brochures, datasheets, articles, whitepapers, case studies, web pages, social posts, and tradeshow and event graphics. You are also responsible for making cost-saving decisions, working with appropriate resources to produce deliverables on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, implement and measure best-in-class communications strategies to expand market reach,and support profitable revenue growth across specific businesses within Varian
  • Oversee market data analysis and evaluation to ensure optimized implementation of strategic objectives
  • Direct and manage communications resources, schedules, and deadlines as well as budgets and forecasts
  • Collaborate with and integrate deliverables across functional teams – from product marketing, geo-marketing, regulatory and legal to creative, web, digital operations, PR, tradeshow, and social – to create a strategic approach designed to accomplish objectives and produce effective promotional and communications materials
  • Coordinate with and manage agency partners
  • Establish and/or evolve processes where necessary to drive efficiencies across the communications function, and obtain necessary review and provide final approval on all marketing content, presentations, collateral, campaigns, projects, and promotions

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; specific degree in Communications, Marketing, or Business Administration with a Project Management certification (PMP) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of business experience in medical device or life sciences. Business experience may include marketing, sales, or communications.
  • Minimum of 3 years of successful experience in digital marketing communications with positions of increasing responsibility and accountability in a goal-oriented setting. Hands-on experience with Adobe CC required.
  • The candidate should have working knowledge in brand marketing, market/customer segmentation, value proposition development, competitive analysis, marketing communications, and digital and traditional go-to-market strategies.
  • Experience with online lead funnels (generation, nurturing, scoring, and conversion) using CRM such as salesforce.com and marketing automation tools such as Marketo.
  • Ability to rapidly absorb detailed product information and translate it into correct messaging to be used across all tactics.
  • Effective skills in areas of interpersonal, oral, and written communication, organization, prioritization and planning, goal setting, analytical and problem-solving.
  • Results-oriented, capable of managing and driving the completion of multiple competing projects.

Job Specific Requirements:

  • 10-20% travel (domestic & international)
  • Position will be a hybrid model working from home and the office when safe to return;
