Primary Location 6305 Peachtree Dunwoody Rd, Atlanta, GA, USA Division Cox Communications Inc Job Level Individual Contributor Travel Yes, 5 of the Time Schedule Full-time Shift Day Job Requisition Number 212299 Cox Communications is searching for a Network Planning Engineer I who will be responsible for supporting Network Planning Engineer II – IV in measuring, analyzing, modeling, and forecasting network traffic for Cox Residential network. This role will be responsible for supporting Network Planning Engineer II – IV in identifying network capacity needs, financial impact, and related performance. Network Planning Engineer I will lead meetings, manage communications, ensure data, and process quality, maintain process documentation and complete ad hoc analysis and reporting requests. Network Planning Engineer I will clearly communicate results with numerous stakeholders. This position will employ or engage with the following technologies DOCSIS, PON, FTTH, RPHY and multi-gigabit optical ethernet. Join a diverse engineering team working to transform data, voice and video networks for the next generation. Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions – Understands networking fundamentals to maintain network capacity on metro networks – Understands network platforms, designs and capacity planning guidelines to plan new deployments and capacity augments – Evaluates and plans optimal network capacity based on capacity planning guidelines – Works with corporate and regional engineers to operationalize and document capacity plans – Reviews network capacity and performance to monitor and ensure network health – Develops reports and analysis to verify data and process quality Related Tasks – With guidance, prepares data and reports to department leadership – Provide input to leadership on program performance issues and operational process improvements Qualifications Minimum – 0-2+ years in related field (IT, Engineering, Technology) – Robust communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills – Experience in researching and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data – Experience working with large data sets, analysis and methods – Experience developing automated reporting – Experience using Microsoft Office Suite applications in a work setting with strong knowledge in Excel Preferred – BABS in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or Technology related field – Knowledge in process development – Analytical skills – Knowledge in telecommunications Who We Are About Cox Communications Cox Communications is committed to creating meaningful moments of human connection through broadband applications and services.
