Our client, an antiques and collectibles company, has an excellent opportunity for a Data Engineer to work on a Full-Time Permanent Position in Sandy Springs, GA, Hybrid work style.

Looking to start immediately.

This is a full-time permanent position that offers excellent benefits that include Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits and more.

Responsibilities of the Data Engineer:

• Manage design and customize customer data infrastructure
• You will be responsible for rewriting current backend data processing that is written in Perl and rewritten in Python
• Manage and support ETL infrastructure including databases, data extraction, and data loading
• Create and maintain the software in scripting languages such as Perl, Python, and Groovy, as well as shell scripts and SQL
• Work with various database/data technologies including Postgres, Apache Solr, AWS DynamoDB
• Work with DevOps and Infrastructure team to support, patch, and migrate all facets of data infrastructure

Requirements for the Data Engineer:

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience in Python, Perl, and a JVM language
• 5+ years of data engineering, transformation, normalization, and management
• RDBMS experience with either Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL in a large production environment
• Strong knowledge of SQL
• Familiarity with NoSQL and full-text search (Solr preferred)
• Experience in NoSQL data stores (DynamoDB preferred) and database scalability

Preferred Skills:

• Ability to understand full-stack development
• Can work on small teams in an Agile environment
• Comfortable with a fast-growing smaller company
• Familiarity with Hadoop and Spark is a plus
