Human Resources and Payroll Specialist


This is a Full-time position in Atlanta, GA posted March 22, 2021.

Our team of experienced clinicians and exceptional staff, guide our patients through diagnosis and personalized treatment of their spine problems.

We are the second outpatient surgery center in the country to offer robotically navigated spine surgery, keeping us on the forefront of the best technology.n nWe are seeking a Human Resources and Payroll Specialist to serve as a generalist to support all aspects of human resources and payroll for the Practice.n nHuman Resources Dutiesn Maintain personnel, workers’ compensation, payroll and other confidential files for all employees.

Assure company compliance with provisions of Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).

Prepares reports and applications required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies such as Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, insurance commissioners, and other regulatory agencies.

Complete all necessary correspondence with DOL, employment verifications, references, etc.

Oversee employee benefit administration using Ease.

Including new enrollments and terminations.

Work as a liaison between the Practice and our insurance brokers.

Including, resolving employee benefit-related issues, completing annual benefit analysis, and processing open enrollment.

Reconcile monthly carrier invoices.

Oversee worker’s compensation / leave of absence tracking and reporting.

Assist Supervisors and Managers with performance management, people development, and disciplinary actions.

Maintain and update employee handbook, and communicate policy changes.

Run regular performance management reports and tracks performance review.

Conduct wage/salary benchmarking.

Ensure job descriptions are up to date and accurate.

Complete onboarding for new hires.

Track and process terminations and turnover.

Stay current on all applicable labor laws and regulations.

n n Payroll Dutiesn Complete payroll processing according to company policy, and applicable wage and hour laws.

Maintain payroll profiles and update system with all employee changes, such as new hires, terminations, resignations, leaves of absences, suspensions, wage rate, address, name and other status changes.

Ensures deduction and earning codes are correct in payroll system.

Works closely with employees to verify accurate payroll prior to final submittal-Time corrections, PTO, etc Creates and submits reports and transfers for employee 401(k) and HSA contributions.

Creates and submits monthly and quarterly payroll reports to various concerns according to company policy.

Finalizes year-end reconciliation audits and reports.

In conjunction with Senior Accountant, oversees and submits payroll-based journal entry submissions.

Maintains record of all payroll changes during a period (i.e.

addition of hours for missed PTO, changing regular hours to OT for Saturday MRI shifts, etc.).

Maintains a record of reimbursed expenses paid during a payroll period.

Establishing and implementing policies on such matters as garnishments, payroll advancements to employees, 401K loans, etc.

Processing manual check entries and special payroll requests routinely.

Work with banking in processing direct deposit rejections and reversals.

n n Requirementsn Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Human Resources, preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of hands-on payroll experience, Human Resources and benefit experience Knowledge of and experience with HRIS systems and data management
– Paylocity experience a plus Strong knowledge base of HR related laws and regulations, compliance, and industry best practices Excellent follow-up and follow-through abilities Strong sense of urgency Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality Experienced with Microsoft office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Previous experience in working in multi-site organizations, preferred Creative and resourceful Excellent communication skills (oral and written) Prior experience with creating Payroll journal entries preferred Self-starting attitude when problem solving to provide quicker resolutions Strong organizational and phone skills Ability to take initiative with minimal supervision n n Benefitsn Competitive Pay Paid time off Paid Holidays Generous Benefits 401(k) after 1 year of service Great work environment
