DUTIES include but not limited to the following:
– Examine, diagnose and treat diseases and disorders of the nervous system.
– Provide immediate evaluation and management of emergency problems as they occur.
– Conduct diagnostic tests and procedures to determine the nature of an illness
– Determine diagnoses, based on test results and patient observation
– Discuss treatment options with patients and their families, advising them of the potential benefits and risks
– Develop treatment plans and coordinate care with other medical-service providers
– Create and maintain patient records
– Train staff and students
– Perform lumbar punctures.
– Perform and interpret nerve conduction studies and electromyography.
– Perform evoked potentials and electroencephalograms.
– Provide chemodenervation (such as Botox) for common neurological conditions.
– Ensure a safe work environment and employee safe work habits.
– Perform chemodenervation, such as onabotulinum toxin A injection.
– Complete nerve condition studies/electromyography and interpret electroencephalograms
– Obtain continuing education to stay up-to-date on neurology research and innovations
– Ensure a safe work environment and employee safe work habits.
– On-call for ECC consults during duty hours.
– Maintain currency in new neurology medication, especially Multiple Sclerosis treatments.
– Maintain medication administration training as required.
