Job Description – The Solution Architect role is a senior level position that leverages experience and knowledge in telecommunications network and polling technologies (SNMP TL1 IPDR), high rate data collection platforms and data stores that leverages Big Data, Kafka, Confluent technologies – Experience architecting solutions and platforms with Data Lake On premise as well as Cloud is critical for this role – Provide conceptual architecture and high-level design, and directionally correct products to dev teams to operationalize – Under general supervision, formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems – Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written – Establishes database definitions and tables designs, codes, tests, and implements custom database scripts and formal procedures – Informs physical and logical data modeling – Hands-on experience with data mining, data integration, quality, ownership, and governance within a data architecture framework – Provide Solution Architecture estimates for projects – Oversee vendor architecturedesigns – Participates in platform strategy discussions and Disaster Recovery strategy discussions – Owns architecture roadmaps TasksAccountabilities include but are not limited to – Completes all technical development tasks pertaining to applications per approved projects and allocated budgets – Interfaces extensively with functional users to confirm the applicability of design alternatives, identifies and recommends cost effective options, and address user concerns – Interfaces as necessary with all critical integration points to ensure that applications are successfully and efficiently operating with all requested applications – Maps workflow and creates design specifications based on functional requirements – Drives innovative thought and solutions to evolve our capabilities – Provides strategic leadership for team supporting 3 year roadmap Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Problem Complexity Performs advanced areas of work in software development. Identifies key barrierscore problems and applies problem-solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Provides the optimal solution based on current state, target state, cost, schedule, security, strategic alignment, roadmap. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results. Autonomy Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to results expected. Determines and develops approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues. Collaborates with peers and others on projects and to create target guidance Knowledge Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of software development to the completion of complex assignments. Advanced knowledge of organizations technologies and practices. Primary contribution is in applying knowledge (product, industry, professional, technical) rather than managing people. Greater than 50 of time is doing individual contributor work. Continued learning is a must Skill Sets Must demonstrate proficiency with telecommunications network monitoring protocols (SNMP TL1 IPDR), high rate data collections (tasks queues) and data stores. Knowledge of the Big Data, open source, EDW and Analytic space with expert knowledge of Big Data products and 3rd party solution sets and their application is a plus. Strong RDBMS SQL background. Knowledge and experience in Python, Spark, ScalaJava. Preferred Qualifications Education Requires BSBA in related discipline and 10+ years experience in related software development area OR MSMA and 7+ years of experience in related software development area InfluencingPeople Leadership May oversee the completion of projects or assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring, and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc. Effectively influence others with your thought leadership with your ability to create slides and tell a story with reasons to do it that way. Contributes to employees professional development but does not have hiring or firing authority. Must demonstrate capability to deliver and communicate complex forward-thinking designs across multiple platforms and teams. Build strong relationships with departmental leaders and external team architects and leaders.
