VP of Finance

Ledgent Finance & Accounting

This is a Full-time position in Atlanta, GA posted March 29, 2021.

Vice President of Finance for a Local Non-Profit Organization Direct Hire!

Job Duties Directs the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, tax returns and reports for government regulatory agencies.

Oversees accounting department, budget preparation, and audit functions.

Meets regularly with President/CEO and Board Finance Committee.

Maintains the Agency’s system of accounts and keeps books and records on all Agency transactions and assets.

Coordinates and directs the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures (including the cost accounting system), and analyzes and reports variances.

Supervises matching of invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents.

Prepares guidelines for proper coding of invoices to general ledger expense accounts and supervises updates of inventory records.

Monitors cash flow reports and checks to ensure accurate and timely payments are made.

Reconciles subsidiary vendors’ ledger with accounts payable total and with general ledger.

Prepares general ledger entries as required to correct errors.

Supervises proper filing and storage of records in the event of federal or state audit.

Verifies month-end totals of Account Distribution, Cash Disbursements and Open Items reports and coordinates closing of the general ledger.

Assigns accounting account numbers to invoices for proper distribution in financial statements.

Oversees preparation of other reports pertaining to the financial responsibility of the Agency.

Supervises and trains the Controller, Accounting Manager, and other Accounting staff.

Assigns specific duties, manages staff to ensure solid performance and completes performance appraisals.

Requirements A minimum of 10 years of experience leading a Finance Dept Must have Previous Non Profit Experience as a Finance Leader Bachelors Degree or Equivalent We are an equal opportunity employer and make hiring decisions based on merit.
