How you’ll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

The Specialist, Finance, Global Payment Strategy will be responsible for developing payment strategy and leading Delta’s corporate UATP program within the Global Payment Acceptance Treasury function.

The Specialist will lead and participate in cross-functional payment projects with commercial, IT, and treasury teams.

The Specialist will also act as Delta’s liaison to the UATP corporate office and coordinate growth initiatives, sales leads, strategic changes, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive the development and implementation of strategies and tactics designed to reduce merchant fee distribution expense with corporate, travel agency, leisure, and other accounts

• Analyze authorization and settlement costs, trends, and other payment data looking for ways to reduce payment fees and identify areas for payment enhancements

• Determine feasibility and work with internal partners on the business case to support such efforts

• Maintain subject matter expertise in traditional card rules and regulations as well as emerging booking and payment options

• Conduct competitive and industry research to make recommendations to leadership that will improve Delta’s payment offerings

• Analyze program effectiveness, recommend and/or supervise changes as needed and ensures timely and accurate internal or external communications to include training/educational programs, ad hoc reports, executive summaries, and formal presentations

• Oversee the execution of Delta’s UATP program.

UATP responsibilities include frequent customer interaction, periodic sales calls/visits, monthly reporting and daily customer requests

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

• High School Diploma, GED or High School Equivalency

• Embraces Diverse people, thinking and styles

• Consistently makes safety and security, of self and others, the priority

• Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.

• 1-2 years’ experience working with merchant acquirers, processors, card networks, alternative forms of payments and/or consumer payment consulting

• Should be a creative/strategic thinker, solution-oriented, multi-task capable and have demonstrated the ability to lead and work well with others in a fast-paced time-sensitive environment

• Should possess keen analytical skills; sound organizational and planning skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills and a proven ability to make sound business decisions

• Must possess working knowledge of and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; Tableau reporting experience highly desirable

• Must be performing satisfactorily in his or her present position

• Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline or equivalent work experience

• Knowledge of Delta’s sales & distribution strategies, programs, processes, tools and infrastructure is desirable
